Ladies and Gentlemen, Here's a neat little trick that you can do with WinMX to ensure that you've not downloaded the same file twice or more. How annoying!! Until WinMX(Frontcode Technologies) does something to fix this problem it's a way to save bandwidth and your time/effort/money. 1.) Share all files that you have already downloaded. (Perhaps save them in a special directory for reference.) 2.) Connect to some popular OpenNap Servers in your Network list. (Note: you can use NapMX to get a list of up to date servers: download it at - http://napmx.darkservers.net Install it after the VBRun60sp5.exe file that it needs to work with Windows 9x/ME etc.) 3.) Search for a file that is already in your shared list that is unique and likely to be found quickly. 4.) Add yourself from the search results to your Hotlist then Browse the files that you are sharing through the servers. - The files that you are downloading, but already have shared, will show up on your Hotlist Browse of yourself in YELLOW or BLUE - even if they're under different names than what you have shared them as. 5.) Delete them completely from your transfer list (or download directory) so that the incomplete files will be removed for the next time you're online sharing - avoiding accidentally restarting the same download again. Hope this helps. Have fun downloading, share plenty and fairly! Sincerely, C.H.M. - AKA WinMX Nick - PleaseAskMeToShare
